Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for technical leadership of Mechanical team:

Ensuring that safety standards and compliance codes are met;

Leading and developing a team in multidisciplinary tasks;

Overseeing the training and scheduling of workers;

Helping the planning sector to create new technical and administrative procedures;

Being effective at motivating their team, as well as giving a frank but constructive assessment of the work done (feed back);

Having a role in hiring and termination decisions;

Keeping track of payroll/overtime and make sure that the mechanical budget is kept within corporate mandates;

Ensuring that spare parts are stocked for emergency repairs (within the provided budget), as well as being responsible for purchasing the needed supplies (based on the highest priority and best cost- benefit or value);

Providing technical guidance and advice to the mechanics team to improve their knowledge;

Helping the planning sector to create and review technical and administrative procedures;

Observing and testing the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunction;

Following the analyze of the tests results;

Proposing improvements in the equipment;

Developing new suppliers when necessary;

Corrective And Preventive Maintenance Actions

Planning the corrective and preventive maintenance actions according to the needs;

Following the performance team during the executions;

Supporting the technicians in order to speed up the process of maintenance in some system, such as: Hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, utilities and plant production machinery.

Feedback To HODs/Management

Keeping records of mechanical maintenance in the registers/forms / TOTV`s (updated);

Reporting to the HOD the important issues / incident and other relevant facts or deviation that can cause any major problem to the associates or facilities;

Giving suggestions in order to get continuous improvement of process, safety, team performance, etc.);

Reporting the decision taken about any relevant change in process or procedures (technical or administrative)

Health And Safety Standards

Ensuring the team is working in accordance with health and safety standards and updated procedures;

Following the hazardous operations (eg. Thermal Oil System, Compressors, Heating System);

Ensure the Mechanical team is participating in all safety training (provided by the company as well as the mandatory by the local code);
