Linux Consultant for Server Migration (GCP)

Introduction & Summary

This position involves a project for migrating servers to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on RockyLinux 9 environments. The role requires executing commands in Linux, checking crontabs, analyzing logs, and interpreting application errors, all performed remotely. The ideal candidate must possess proven skills in Linux system administration, especially in RockyLinux or Red Hat/CentOS, and have a basic familiarity with GCP.

Main Responsibilities

The main duties include:

• Executing Linux commands and scripts.
• Verifying and managing crontab configurations.
• Analyzing system logs for troubleshooting purposes.
• Interpreting application error messages for diagnosis.
• Conducting remote support efforts for system migration.
  
  

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in Linux system administration, preferably RockyLinux or Red Hat/CentOS.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at least at a basic level.
• Experience with executing and analyzing shell/Linux commands.
• Ability to validate crontab entries and read log files effectively.
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing application errors.
• Availability for night shifts (between 22:00 and 04:00).
• Independent, responsible profile with a fast learning capability.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

• Knowledge or experience with IngresDB.
• Previous experience in application server migration projects.
