Account Manager/Freight Broker

Melgar Freight Solutions was founded to be the alternative to transactional brokerages, the kind that treat carriers like a commodity and customers like a load number. We do it differently. We treat carriers with respect, we put shipper needs first, and when we say we'll handle something, we follow through.

It's working. We've grown almost 9x in the past year in both freight volume and revenue, and we have more business than we can handle currently. That's where you come in, working on growing and managing current accounts. We're building the team that will carry this company for the next decade.

We're hiring a Freight Broker / Account Manager.

This is a full-time, in-office role at our Woodbury office.

This isn't a "dial 100 shippers a day" seat. You'll own relationships with high-volume contract shippers in food, ingredients, and manufacturing, moving FTL reefer and dry van freight across our nationwide carrier network.

What you'll do:

→ Manage and grow customer and carrier relationships built on trust

→ Coordinate shipments, track loads, and keep on-time performance high

→ Get ahead of service issues and solve them before the customer has to ask

→ Prepare quotes and negotiate pricing within company guidelines

→ Analyze lane performance and rates to spot new opportunities

→ Keep clean, accurate records in our TMS and CRM

You're a fit if:

→ You have 1+ year in freight brokerage or transportation. We're willing to train the right person.

→ You communicate clearly and negotiate with confidence

→ You stay calm when a pickup falls apart at 6 a.m.

→ You're organized, detail-driven, and work well both independently and as part of a team

→ You want to build something, not just collect a paycheck

Plus: reefer and dry van experience, and experience in the logistics industry.

As we scale, the people who get in now are the ones who grow into leadership.
