Senior Accountant

A well-established North Bay organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical accounting functions while partnering with leadership to improve processes, strengthen financial controls, and support strategic business initiatives.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own key areas of the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
• Evaluate existing accounting workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with operations and business leaders to ensure financial information supports decision-making.
• Assist with compliance initiatives, accounting policies, and implementation of new accounting standards.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience with fixed assets, lease accounting, and account reconciliations
• ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
