SRL Enterprises LLC is a Jersey City, NJ firm that provides contract compliance, supplier diversity, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program administration, community engagement, and workforce development services on public infrastructure projects. SRL serves as community liaison on major projects, supporting public communications and outreach in partnership with the Gateway Development Commission (GDC).

Role Description

SRL is seeking a full-time Community Relations Liaison for the Palisades Tunnel project in North Bergen, NJ, part of GDC's Hudson Tunnel Project. The Liaison is a key personnel position on the Schiavone Lane Dragados Joint Venture (SLD) team. The project is projected to run through December 2028.

The Liaison keeps residents, businesses, and stakeholders informed of construction activity and its impacts, works directly with the construction team, and independently produces accurate, polished public materials.

Responsibilities

• Attend the weekly Tuesday meeting in person at One Liberty Plaza, New York, NY, and work from GDC's New Jersey Community Engagement Center in Weehawken a couple of days a week

• Make regular site visits and support field coordination, canvassing, and tours

• Work with the construction team on schedules, trucking, access changes, and noise, vibration, and dust controls

• Maintain an outreach lookahead and give the community advance notice of work that affects them

• Maintain the 24-hour hotline and an electronic log of inquiries and complaints, and track each issue to closure

• Coordinate resident property damage claims with the project team and claims representatives

• Produce one-page notices, fact sheets, and presentations in Word and PowerPoint to GDC branding standards

• Host the weekly Palisades Community Engagement Meeting (virtual) and attend town halls, public hearings, and community board meetings in person

• Prepare agendas, minutes, and action logs, and the monthly Community Relations Liaison report

Required Qualifications

• Direct experience in community relations or public outreach on construction or infrastructure projects

• Locally based and available for regular in-person presence in Hudson County and lower Manhattan

• Strong writing skills for public notices, resident correspondence, and reports

• Able to produce professional materials in Word and PowerPoint

• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction training, or willing to complete it before starting

• Willing to complete the NJ Transit railroad safety orientation at hire and annually

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on transit, rail, or tunnel projects

• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Familiarity with North Bergen, Weehawken, and Hudson County communities

Compensation

$84,000 to $102,000 per year, depending on direct experience.
