1st STACKER POST

The Opportunity

The primary function of the Production - 1st Stacker Post is to work safely in the day-to-day operations of production plant while bundling boxes on the Post according to the factory master and assisting the Post crew as needed.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

• Rotate with Second Stacker between bundling and stacking when necessary
• Assist Second Stacker in gluing boxes and finishing last unit
• Assist with tags, cover sheets, and set up when necessary
• Learn to perform First Helper - Post job
• Bundle boxes according to factory master
• Ensure finished box count is correct and report final box count to operator
• Assist in training Second Stacker
• Notify supervision of needed repairs
• Follow all LOTO procedures for the Post machine
• Regular and timely attendance required
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
• May be assigned to other projects and duties

What You Need To Succeed

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to speak, read, comprehend, and write legibly in English
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
• Able to read and follow instructions on the factory masters
• Eligible to bid for this position under the present labor/management agreement or have current work-related experience
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
• 6 months’ experience in the Finishing Department
• 6 months’ experience as a Second Stacker - Post
• Must have the desire to learn new and/or advanced policy/procedures
• Compare product to master and notify operator and/or supervisor of discrepancies
