Job Summary

We are seeking an Ophthalmologist to join a medical eye and vision clinic in Albany, Oregon. The clinic primarily serves senior patients, with a notable focus on medical eye care. The position is open to experienced physicians and new graduates, with a preference for candidates who have completed residency or have one to two years of practice experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide ophthalmology services in a medical eye and vision clinic.
• See approximately 20-30 patients per day.
• Provide care to a patient population consisting primarily of seniors, along with other patients.
• Work with technician support in a clinic with six examination lanes.
• Follow the clinic schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM.
• Confirm any applicable call or after-hours responsibilities during the interview process.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

Required

• MD or DO degree.
• Valid Oregon medical license.
• Ophthalmology specialty.

Preferred

• Completed residency.
• Approximately one to two years of practice experience.
• Two years of experience is ideal but not required.
• For new graduates, prior industry experience, particularly as an ophthalmic technician, is helpful.

Employment Details

• Full-time employment is preferred; part-time candidates may also be considered.
• One to two openings may be available, depending on the employment arrangement.
• Expected start date is as soon as credentialing is completed, approximately 30-90 days.
• A sign-on bonus may be negotiable.

Interview Process

The interview process typically includes two virtual interviews, followed by an in-person meeting with the leadership team and owner/ophthalmologist. Candidate feedback is typically expected within two to three weeks.
