Director of Wealth Planning & Strategy

Thousand Oaks, CA (Fully Onsite) |

$140,000–$160,000 base + ~10% discretionary bonus

Frederick Fox is partnering with a well-established, multi-billion-dollar Registered Investment Advisor to hire a Director of Wealth Planning & Strategy. This is a senior, analytically focused leadership role with real longevity. The planning function will grow as the firm adds clients, and this person will grow with it.

The Opportunity

You’ll lead the firm’s wealth planning and forecasting function. That means building sophisticated modeling, forecasting and analysis that shapes client strategy, and acting as the analytical engine behind the Advisor team. Advisors will bring you into client meetings to walk through your analysis, because you’ll know the numbers better than anyone in the room. You’ll report directly to the President and lead a team of 2–3 analysts.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead custom financial analyses and strategic planning solutions for high-net-worth private clients, foundations and endowments, including relationships over $10M
  • Present complex analyses and recommendations directly to clients, prospects and intermediaries
  • Own the firm’s planning software and keep it current with capital market assumptions and tax, legal and regulatory changes
  • Run quality control on all wealth forecasting deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Produce firm-wide planning research that informs investment policy and client service
  • Train and mentor junior analysts, Associates and new Advisors on tools, process and planning philosophy
  • Use AI and automation to modernize and optimize how the department works

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
  • 3+ years of hands-on wealth planning experience with complex client analyses
  • Strong command of eMoney, Morningstar Direct, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Supervisory experience, or a clear readiness to lead and develop a team
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics clearly and confidently
  • Self-starter who works well with autonomy and also collaborates well with a team

Preferred

  • CFP, CPWA or CFA
  • Recent RIA experience
  • Holistiplan experience

Who Thrives Here

This role is built for a planner who loves the analytical and strategic side of wealth management and wants to build a career leading it. It is not a stepping stone into an Advisor seat.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $140K–$160K base (some flexibility for the right candidate) + discretionary bonus (~10%)
  • Health plan options with employee and dependent premiums fully covered
  • 401(k) eligibility from day one
  • Flexible PTO
  • Wellness reimbursement
  • Sponsored continuing education and professional development
