Tax Accountant

Location: Skokie, IL

We're a growing CPA firm that specializes in tax and client accounting services, and we're looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. If you enjoy building relationships with clients, working in a collaborative environment, and being part of a firm where your contributions matter, we’d love to connect with you.

We get to really know our clients and offer them personalized service. Most of our work is with individuals, small businesses, and other closely held entities. We focus on tax compliance, planning, and ongoing accounting support. Our team is friendly, down-to-earth, and committed to doing great work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What You'll Do

This role involves a mix of tax and accounting work, including:

  • Preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
  • Assisting with tax planning and projections throughout the year
  • Providing accounting services such as reconciliations, financial reporting, and support with monthly and quarterly closes
  • Communicating directly with clients to answer questions and offer guidance
  • Staying current on tax laws and helping the team stay informed

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Accounting (CPA is a plus, or working toward it)
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax and client accounting services
  • Experience with tax prep and accounting software (QuickBooks, UltraTax, CCH)
  • Someone who’s organized, responsive, and communicates well with both clients and team members
  • A self-starter who’s comfortable managing deadlines and priorities
