Driver

Position Overview: This role involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring timely, safe transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles, triples, and straight trucks.
• Perform daily safety and pre-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and handle freight using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Secure freight with straps, ropes, and pallets; repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete documentation, reports, and comply with hazardous material regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Interact with customers to coordinate pick-ups/deliveries and solicit additional business.
• May perform tire chaining, road driving, or dock duties as operationally necessary.
• Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must hold a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.
• At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and DOT compliance.
• Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and work independently or in a team.
• Good communication skills and physical capability to handle freight and drive long distances.

Working Conditions: Driving in various weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Hours may vary based on operational needs.
