We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Tax Consultant to manage a portfolio of commercial property tax appeals throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding counties.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage commercial property tax appeals from initial valuation review and evidence preparation through informal negotiations and formal ARB hearings.
• Analyze commercial property valuations using the sales comparison, income, and cost approaches to develop well-supported appeals.
• Prepare persuasive valuation evidence, market analyses, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and file business personal property (BPP) renditions and challenge excessive BPP assessments when appropriate.
• Negotiate directly with appraisal districts throughout the DFW area, including Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, and surrounding counties.
• Represent clients at informal and formal hearings, advocating for fair and equitable property valuations.
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding appeal strategies, progress, and results.
• Assist with binding arbitration and litigation matters as needed, working directly with company ownership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in Texas commercial property tax consulting, commercial appraisal, or a closely related valuation field. Exceptional candidates with demonstrated experience will also be considered.
• Active registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as a Property Tax Consultant or Senior Property Tax Consultant, or the ability to obtain the required registration before performing regulated consulting work.
• Strong working knowledge of the Texas Property Tax Code, protest procedures, appraisal district practices, and ARB hearings.
• Proficiency in commercial real estate valuation, including income, sales comparison, and cost approaches.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple accounts and deadlines throughout the property tax protest season.
• A Texas real estate license or appraisal certification is a plus.
• Must be able to work in person at our Arlington office.
