Multiple Locations (San Francisco, Los Angeles) - Labor & Employment Counsel

The Labor & Employment practice group seeks an experienced counsel to join its San Francisco or Los Angeles office. Candidates should have at least ten years of employment litigation experience, including substantial work on single plaintiff matters and wage and hour class actions. Candidates must be an active member of the California bar.

This role is suited for a senior attorney capable of independently managing a full caseload, leading case strategy, and supervising associates. The position offers significant client contact and the opportunity to help grow a collaborative, high-performing practice.

Responsibilities include overseeing all phases of litigation; serving as lead or day-to-day case manager; supervising associates and staff; and acting as a primary client contact. Candidates must demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously. Significant deposition and courtroom experience is required, including arguing motions and handling hearings. Experience with employment advice and counseling is preferred. Candidates are also expected to contribute to business development and client relationship growth.

Pay Range: $350,000- $450,000. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
