The Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired is seeking an executive assistant to provide high-level administrative and organizational support to the executive director, ensuring efficiency, effective communication and smooth operations across all executive functions. This is a 20-hour-per-week non-exempt position based in Madison, Wisconsin.

This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, flexible and compassionate. As a member of the Council’s administrative team, they will work regularly with both staff and board members, reporting directly to the executive director.
Responsibilities
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings and coordinate travel.
- Serve as primary contact with the board of directors for administrative matters such as setting up meetings, sharing agendas and managing logistics, including annual retreat.
- Arrange in-person meetings, including meals, with partner organizations.
- Prepare reports and presentations with accuracy and professionalism.
- Anticipate executive needs proactively.
- Organize and prioritize incoming requests.
Required skills
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage several competing priorities.
- Advanced computer skills with calendars, spreadsheets, presentation decks, word processing and payroll systems.
- Dedication to inclusion and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Some additional highly valued skills
- Ability to remediate PDFs for screen reader accessibility.
- Knowledge of vision rehabilitation/blindness/low vision.
- Experience working with people who have disabilities.
- Spanish speaker/bilingual.
Education and Professional Experience Requirements
- At least three years of administrative assistant or office manager experience
- Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or Certified Executive Assistant (CEA) preferred
- Minimum of associate’s degree in a related field
