Position Summary

The Executive Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive human capital strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives. This role oversees all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, total rewards, organizational development, and compliance, across a multi-site healthcare platform. The ideal candidate brings a disciplined, data-driven approach and experience operating in fast-paced, complex, high-growth healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to design and implement a scalable HR strategy supporting organizational growth and operational objectives

• Lead all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, and learning & development

• Build and standardize HR processes, policies, and infrastructure across freestanding ERs, hospitals, ASCs, and physician practices

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare-specific regulations

• Oversee HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements

• Develop and execute leadership development and succession planning initiatives across clinical and administrative teams

• Partner with operations and clinical leadership to support workforce optimization, retention strategies, and culture initiatives

• Manage employee relations matters with sound judgment and a consistent, policy-driven approach

• Support integration efforts related to acquisitions, new site openings, and organizational restructuring

• Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to support a high-performance, service-oriented culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred

• 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

• Prior experience in healthcare services, including multi-site environments (hospitals, ERs, ASCs, or physician practices) strongly preferred

• Experience in investor owned or high-growth organizations highly desirable

• Deep knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and healthcare workforce dynamics

• Demonstrated ability to build and scale HR infrastructure in a growing organization

• Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategy to financial and operational goals

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• High level of discretion, professionalism, and executive presence
