Project Manager - AI Governance & Policy

Reading, PA

6 months Contract (w/potential of FTE conversion) – Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Position Overview

The PM will serve as the primary go-to person for all AI Governance initiatives working closely with the AI Governance Committee and cross functional teams (Legal, IT, HR, etc.) to evaluate, refine, and develop enterprise-wide AI policies and procedures. Strong AI governance frameworks acumen and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously is needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation of existing AI policies and controls, identifying gaps and areas requiring updates.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of AI policies and procedures aligned with legal, ethical, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain policy inventory, documentation standards, version control, and approval workflows.
  • Translate legal, technical, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable policy language.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Legal, IT, HR, the AI Governance Committee, and external auditors.
  • Lead multiple AI governance projects, including planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate audits, compliance reviews, and policy governance activities.
  • Support the development of a scalable AI governance framework and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience managing multiple cross-functional initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, AI ethics frameworks, or AI policy development.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance environments related to technology and data.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills for all audiences.
  • Experience in driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and external clients/partners.
  • High proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana).

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience partnering with legal, compliance, or audit functions.
  • Background in data privacy regulations and how they intersect with AI use
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Exposure to enterprise AI platforms, tools, or AI product development lifecycles.
