Carmelina Capital Partners ( www.carmelina.com) is looking to hire an Analyst/Associate to join its private equity investment team in Los Angeles, CA. Carmelina invests in lower-middle-market companies with leading market positions, strong management teams and discernible growth drivers.
Scope and Responsibilities
The Analyst/Associate will participate in all transaction functions and portfolio management activities, function as an integral part of a close-knit group of investment professionals, play a key role in acquisition diligence, assist in analyzing investment opportunities and play a role in structuring and negotiating prospective investments in target companies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Writing comprehensive investment memoranda setting forth the firm’s investment thesis, identifying investment risks, competitive market assessments and returns variance analysis
- Coordinating the firm’s due diligence process, including communicating with advisors, organizing/analyzing due diligence materials and managing information flow among relevant transaction participants and capital sources
- Traveling to companies to perform on-site due diligence and traveling to various industry conferences
- Building financial models, performing valuation analysis and recommending capital structures to finance structured buyout transactions and/or recapitalizations
- Participating in raising debt financing for prospective and current portfolio companies
- Assisting portfolio company operations and working with management teams at portfolio companies to help with financial reporting, strategy development and other key business initiatives
Requirements
Successful candidates will possess:
- Unquestionable integrity, credibility, character, good judgment and internal drive
- An understanding and desire to support the needs of business owners, executives and other business partners in high-growth environments
- 1 – 3 years of prior experience in investment banking, accounting/valuation or private equity
- Solid knowledge of corporate finance, M&A transactions, accounting and capital markets
- Advanced financial modeling skills applicable to corporate finance transactions, including highly developed Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Advanced presentation development skills, including strong PowerPoint proficiency
- Persuasive and critical thinking with an acute ability to communicate in written and verbal forms
- Ability to communicate complex information in easy-to-understand, direct language; comfortable interacting with senior business executives
- Comfort with small office and execution-oriented environment
- An attention to detail and a healthy sense of urgency in getting work done right the first time
Start Date / Tenure
The start date will be in Summer/Fall 2026. This is an open-ended position, and strong performers should expect increased future responsibility and significant advancement within the firm.
