About the Role
As an MRI Technologist, you play a vital role in helping clinicians see what can’t be seen with the naked eye. You’ll use advanced imaging technology to produce detailed, cross-sectional images that support accurate diagnoses and guide patient care.
This is more than operating equipment—it’s about providing a calming, reassuring experience for patients while delivering high-quality imaging that makes a real difference in their treatment journey.
Starting pay: $41.61/hour
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Operate MRI equipment to capture clear, detailed diagnostic images
Prepare and position patients for exams while ensuring their comfort and safety
Explain procedures in a friendly, reassuring way to help patients feel at ease
Monitor patients throughout imaging and respond to any concerns
Follow safety protocols to minimize magnetic and radiofrequency exposure
Collaborate closely with radiologists and care teams to support accurate diagnoses
Maintain equipment and imaging records in accordance with quality standards

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of New York.
2. Registration Certification for Contrast Injection in the State of New York.
3. Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Education and Experience
1. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an MRI Technologist; or
2. Certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited Institution and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an MRI Technologist; or
3. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist; or
4. Equivalent experience gained by the completion of technical training as an MRI Technologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, an approved school or training institution may be substituted for the above experience requirement.
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the Registration Certification for Contrast Injection in the State of New York within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of their appointment to this title.
3. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
