Accounting Manager (Grants & Compliance)Madison County GovernmentJackson Regional Airport (MKL) Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager (Grants & Compliance) serves as a key member of the airport’s finance team, supporting daily accounting operations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements. This position provides critical support for grant tracking, financial reporting, and audit preparation as the airport manages multiple capital projects and funding sources. Primary Job Functions/Responsibilities: Perform daily accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Track and monitor expenditures across multiple funding sources including FAA, state, federal, and local grants Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with grant requirements Assist in preparation for annual audits and financial reviews Assist with development and tracking of the annual operating and capital budgets Serve as a backup to the Chief Financial Officer when needed Support special projects related to airport growth and capital development Monitor lease compliance by all tenants and concessionaires Assist with payroll Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 2–4 years of accounting experience Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP) & Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and accounting software Experience with governmental accounting preferred Experience working with grants or federally funded projects preferred Core Competencies: High level of integrity and accountability Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Clear and professional communication Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and self-start DISCLAIMERThe above information is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties and responsibilities of this position.Submit resume to ***email_hidden***; include job title in subject line.
