Day Shift, "Bed Types and How Divided: All 22 beds can take Med/Surg/Tele Staffing Ratios: Telemetry: 4:1, Med/Surg: 5:1. Schedule Requirements: Call Required: Yes, for permanent staff. Float Required: Per union contract. Required to float to any Med/Surg/Tele department to take patients. Required to task in all other departments. Weekend Coverage: Expectation attempt for every other weekend rotation. However, may adjust based on business need. Scheduling Type: Mixture of self-request and business need Medication System: Pyxis Documentation System: Cerner IV Teams: Monday-Friday, dayshift only. Depends on patient care of IV nurse. May not be available during dates and times. Lift Teams: No Pharmacy: 24/7 Phlebotomy: 24/7 Transportation: Monday-Friday, dayshift only. Unit Secretary: No Provider Coverage: Intensivist: 7 days a week, dayshift, nightshift coverage: over the phone, on-call Hospitalist: 24/7 Time Off Requests: 1) none over holiday 2) no longer than 2 weeks at a time, 3) prefer no RTO during assignment Is there a different guideline you would like for us to adhere to? Travelers must be able to take Med/Surg/Telemetry as part of assignment. Must be able to float to other departments such as ED, ICU, OB to task only"

Job Summary

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.

Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred

Acute care facility experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required

Essential Functions

Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.

Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.

Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.

Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.

Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.

Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.

Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.

Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care.

Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
