Job Title: Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler develops and maintains detailed production schedules that align customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. This role plays a critical part in ensuring on-time delivery, accurate work order execution, and clear visibility into production flow. The Production Scheduler collaborates closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to create realistic, efficient, and achievable production plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, work order priorities, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Adjust production schedules in real time to account for equipment downtime, supply shortages, or changes in customer demand.
  • Create, release, and manage production work orders within an ERP system, ensuring accurate routing and bills of materials.
  • Monitor production capacity and throughput across work centers, identify bottlenecks, and recommend adjustments to improve flow.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to confirm material availability and proactively address shortages or delays.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, and warehouse teams to prioritize and execute production plans effectively.
  • Track key performance indicators such as schedule adherence and throughput, and support root cause analysis for schedule disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate ERP data, including lead times, routing information, and order status updates.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on production flow, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Communicate schedule updates, risks, and changing priorities clearly and promptly to stakeholders across the organization.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in production scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong experience building and adjusting daily and weekly production schedules while balancing demand, materials, and capacity constraints.
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP or MRP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in managing work orders, bills of materials, and routing within an ERP environment.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Understanding of capacity planning, production scheduling, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Ability to interpret bills of materials and production routings accurately.
  • High level of data accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining system information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • APICS CPIM or similar supply chain or production planning certification is a plus.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Experience with master scheduling software and production planning tools.
  • Familiarity with order entry processes and production-related documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement initiatives and drive efficiency in production environments.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role in a manufacturing environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. The position involves close collaboration with operations, supply chain, quality, and warehouse teams on the production floor and in office settings. The environment is fast-paced and focused on meeting customer demand, maintaining accurate data in ERP systems such as SAP, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The role offers a contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a longer-term position based on performance and business needs.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
