Product Engineer I is responsible for supporting projects to resolve customer and manufacturing issues using data driven structure problem solving methodologies. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, including data collection, protocol execution, and documentation support for process validation and qualification.

This position reports to the Sr. Product Engineering Manager and is part of the Product Engineering Team located in Pensacola, Florida and will be an on-site role.

What Will You Do

  • Support structured problem-solving activities (5 Whys, basic PSP) by collecting data, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis under guidance.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing process and quality data to support CTQ identification and monitoring of process performance.
  • Participate in NPI activities, including data collection, protocol execution, and documentation support for process validation and qualification.
  • Support raw material changes by helping collect supplier data, executing test protocols, and documenting results for engineering assessments.
  • Maintain and update process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, control plans) in alignment with change control requirements.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and internship/co-op experience).
  • 0–3 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality (internships/co-ops highly valued).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes; exposure to polymeric materials or life sciences manufacturing is a plus.
  • Foundational knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, basic root cause analysis); familiarity with DBS concepts preferred.
  • Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis (SPC, DOE concepts), with ability to learn and apply under guidance.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP/ISO).
