This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through assessment, intervention, collaboration, and documentation that support student progress and educational outcomes. You will work closely with families and interdisciplinary partners while helping ensure services are delivered in line with established goals and applicable requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and developmental levels.
- Analyze test results and prepare written summaries for Early Intervention, CPSE, CSE, and related agencies.
- Plan and conduct speech and language interventions aligned with established goals.
- Implement testing procedures to evaluate and monitor student progress.
- Prepare and submit required written reports and documentation.
- Assess oral motor development and feeding-related abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on identified needs.
- Remain current with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) techniques.
- Implement and support appropriate use of AAC devices and assistive technology.
- Maintain attendance records and progress notes.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in team meetings, evaluations, and case conferences.
- Ensure services are consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Provide supervision to students and CFYs as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience with school-based speech therapy, early intervention, and working with special education students.
- Experience addressing speech, communication, and feeding difficulties.
- Experience collaborating with parents and guardians, teachers, support staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Active New York State Speech & Language Pathology license, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), and NYSED certification as a TSHH or TSSLD.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of Assistive Technology, AAC, PECS, and manual language is a plus.
