Vice President Multi-Site Operations, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD

Crossover

Date: 1 week ago
City: Yonkers, NY
Salary: $100 / hr
Contract type: Full time
Visa sponsorship

You tour a campus and know within minutes what's wrong — the ceiling tile that wasn't reported, the HVAC unit making noise for days, the landscaping contractor who billed for incomplete work. You don't wait for someone to escalate. You fix it before it becomes visible.

That eye is the role. 2 Hour Learning runs high-end K–12 campuses where tuition-paying families expect an environment that is safe, reliable, and visitor-ready at all times — not only when it's on the calendar. You'll maintain that standard throughout the Northeast: Manhattan as your base, with consistent travel to campuses in CT, MA, and PA. Your performance determines whether a school feels premium or quietly deteriorates between leadership reviews.

Year one is focused on building the foundation and cleaning up vendor relationships — defining what "ready" means, establishing the audit schedule, replacing underperforming contractors, and training Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to run repeatable systems. Once the region expands and your operating model is proven, the role evolves into sustained regional oversight: you become the operator the network calls when launching a new site, handling an urgent situation, or refining a standard.

This is a physical, on-the-ground role. If you prefer remote management, this isn't a fit. If you want full accountability for whether 25+ schools maintain a premium feel every single day — and the authority to deliver it — continue reading.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Running scheduled on-site audits at Northeast campuses against documented benchmarks for cleanliness, HVAC function, safety systems, security, signage, landscaping, furniture condition, and tour-readiness — and converting audit results into confirmed corrective actions

Prioritizing facility breakdowns and emergencies, coordinating contractor response, and closing work orders only after verifying completion (urgent issues <24 hours, standard issues <1 week)

  • Overseeing local contractor performance against service-level agreements, terminating vendors who consistently underdeliver, renegotiating contracts, and conducting direct accountability discussions on quality and cost control
  • Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists so every location follows standardized procedures, not ad hoc fixes
  • Managing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC system upgrades, interior updates, landscaping renovations, AV/network installations) on time and within budget, minimizing student impact
  • Documenting enterprise-wide standards and AI-powered procurement workflows (leveraging ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance systems, and centralized vendor sourcing) to ensure uniform campus launch and operations
  • Delivering clear weekly written summaries covering regional quality metrics, contractor performance, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Operating remotely from a dashboard — this position demands regular on-site presence at Manhattan and 20–40% travel to regional campuses (CT, MA, PA)
  • Leading greenfield campus design or owning new construction projects — capital expansion is managed by a separate team
  • Defining company-wide procurement strategy independently of field realities — your standards come from physical site assessments
  • Working within clean organizational charts with formal authority over all contributors — you'll create accountability through documentation, written follow-through, and rejecting ambiguous vendor commitments
  • Treating "tour-ready only during executive visits" as acceptable — recurring problems get root-cause analysis, not repeat tickets
  • Operating in reactive crisis mode by default — the audit schedule and predictive maintenance tools exist to identify failures before they generate complaints

Vice President Multi-Site Operations Key Responsibilities

Maintain every campus in the Northeast region at a safe, premium, tour-ready standard every single day.

Basic Requirements

  • Located in New York City or within commuting range, prepared to work primarily from the Manhattan campus with 20–40% regional travel
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • 5+ years managing multi-site facilities, regional operations, hospitality operations, retail operations, or educational facility operations
  • Demonstrated success holding vendor-managed services accountable for quality standards, cost control, and SLA compliance across multiple sites
  • Hands-on experience resolving urgent facility problems (safety systems, HVAC failures, security issues, cleanliness standards) with documented customer-experience outcomes
  • Consistent written operational discipline: issue tracking, escalation documentation, vendor correspondence, weekly regional performance summaries
  • Practical experience with current operations platforms (ticketing systems, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, AI-assisted procurement or planning systems)

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Regional operations leadership in premium hospitality environments, luxury retail networks, private K–12 institutions, or healthcare systems serving demanding clientele
  • Experience building or rehabilitating a regional operations framework that replaced reactive heroics with documented standards
  • History of terminating underperforming vendors and developing a reliable local contractor network
  • Experience directing capital improvement projects (HVAC replacements, AV/network upgrades, landscaping overhauls, interior renovations) in active, customer-facing facilities
  • Background operating in an AI-driven environment where automation, dashboards, and predictive systems handle routine tasks so personnel focus on decision-making
