Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role based in Hanford, CA. The Medical Assistant will support dermatology providers with rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for exams and procedures. Daily responsibilities include assisting with minor dermatologic procedures, setting up and cleaning exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing clinical supplies. The role also involves handling basic medical office tasks such as scheduling support, updating medical records, coordinating follow-up appointments, and responding to patient inquiries within scope. The Medical Assistant will contribute to a positive patient experience by offering clear communication, respectful care, and efficient clinical support.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Medical Assisting skills, including taking vital signs, rooming patients, and supporting providers during dermatologic procedures.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to dermatology and general outpatient care.
  • Experience in a Medical Office setting, including basic administrative support and coordination with clinical staff.
  • Strong Patient Care abilities, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and patient privacy.
  • Proficiency in handling Medical Records, including accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current MA certification or registration preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team.
  • Previous dermatology or outpatient specialty experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn dermatology-specific procedures is essential.
