Position Overview

Passaic County Community College (PCCC) invites applications for Adjunct Faculty positions in the Fire Science program. Instructors will teach courses in-person, online, or through independent study, depending on departmental needs.

This role is ideal for experienced fire service professionals who are passionate about educating the next generation of firefighters and emergency responders.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Fire Science courses following the College’s approved syllabi and academic calendar.

Education Jobs

• Conduct all scheduled class sessions and maintain professional classroom management.
• Accurately record and report student grades and attendance using institutional systems.
• Participate in student learning assessments and support the College’s institutional effectiveness goals.
• Integrate technology effectively, including the College’s learning management system.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook (available at pccc.edu ).

Qualifications

Vocational & Continuing Education

• Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or a closely related field.
• Experience in the Fire Service field.

Colleges & Universities

• Master’s degree in Fire Science or related discipline.
• Supervisory or command-level experience in Fire Service.
• College-level teaching experience.
• Experience with distance learning or online teaching.
• Ability to teach and engage a diverse student population effectively.

Note: The selected candidate must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment.

Compensation

• Rate: $962 per credit taught.
