Position-Site Training Manager
Location– Cheyenne, WY
Position Overview
We are seeking a Site Training Manager to establish and lead a comprehensive training program at our manufacturing facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This newly created role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving site-wide training initiatives that ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a training professional with a manufacturing or chemical plant background who enjoys building programs from the ground up and driving employee development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive site training program for manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate and oversee onboarding and training for all new employees and contractors.
- Plan and deliver instructor-led training sessions to maintain regulatory compliance, improve safety, and enhance workforce capabilities.
- Organize and manage both plant-wide and department-specific training programs.
- Create and execute long-term training and employee development strategies.
- Maintain the site's training records and document management system.
- Promote a strong safety culture by supporting behavioral-based safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and ensure hazards, near misses, and incidents are reported and addressed appropriately.
- Develop standard work procedures, training checklists, and onboarding materials for operational roles.
- Ensure employees are trained using standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and other operational documentation.
- Manage the annual training budget and monitor program effectiveness.
- Support turnaround and contractor training activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or another technical discipline is preferred.
- 10+ years of professional experience, including:
- At least 3 years (5+ preferred) in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
- At least 3 years (5+ preferred) leading or coordinating employee training programs.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, control systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and implement training programs from the ground up.
- Familiarity with process documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, SOPs, and related operational procedures.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory training requirements.
- Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends when business needs require.
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to safety and employee development.
