Data Center Field Engineer – IT Hardware & Infrastructure

We are looking for a dedicated Data Center Field Engineer to join our infrastructure support team. You will serve as our primary smart-hands presence on the ground, handling critical hardware deployment, routine component replacements, diagnostic assessments, and asset management under strict time constraints.

What You Will Do:

• Rack & Stack Operations: Install, mount, and de-rack servers, storage arrays, switches, and high-performance computing infrastructure.
• Hardware Maintenance: Execute break/fix tasks, component swaps (RAM, CPUs, HDDs/SSDs, power supplies), and cable management (fiber/copper).
• Smart Hands Support: Assist remote network engineering teams via console access, power-cycling, and real-time physical troubleshooting.
• SLA Compliance: Respond to emergency dispatches quickly to meet strict target response metrics (e.g., 2-hour SLAs).
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage onsite hardware logging, unboxing, validation tracking, and secure IT asset disposition (ITAD) operations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 2+ years of enterprise-level IT hardware servicing, infrastructure dispatch, or data center physical plant operations.
• Technical Knowledge: Clear understanding of enterprise servers (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Cisco UCS), enterprise storage systems, and network switches.
• Infrastructure Skills: Skilled in proper cabling techniques, basic console configurations, and operating diagnostic terminal interfaces.
• Availability: Adaptable approach to variable scheduling, field travel, or participating in rotating on-call shifts.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Cisco CCNA).
• Specialized vendor qualifications, including active NVIDIA hardware certifications.
