HR Services/Safety Institute/Advocacy Coordinator

The HR Services/Safety Institute/Advocacy Coordinator supports the daily operations of
KASB's Advocacy, HR Services, and Kansas Safety Institute departments through project
coordination, legislative support, event and training logistics, fiscal tracking, member
engagement activities, and digital communications. This position works closely with
department leadership to deliver high-quality services, support professional development
opportunities, manage administrative processes, and enhance member experiences
through efficient coordination and communication.
• Provide assistance and support the Advocacy, HR Services and Kansas Safety Institute
(KSI) teams
• Support and coordinate Advocacy department
- Support legislative activities including bill tracking and posting to the website
- Clerk work for the Legislative Committee meetings including note taking and
attendance
- Zoom coordination and support for the KAN group
- Support Advocacy staff for occasional Statehouse event
• Manage and maintain fiscal and expense reports for Advocacy, HR services, KSI team
members.
• Entering staff activities into CRM for engagement report tracking.
• Support and coordinate the HR Services and KSI department:
- Member engagement and professional development coordination and direction
within the department
- Assist with logistics and coordination of training in collaboration with Member
Events Director
- Manage and maintain fiscal and expense reports for legislative, HR services, KSI
team members
- Development of necessary reports, and documents
- Monitor and account for HR Services and KSI staff activities
- Provide daily support to the Director of HR Services, KSI and Advocacy
- Support and manage efficiency studies, investigations, and safety training and
planning
- Collaborate with Member Engagement to design and coordinate
workshops/workshops/seminars events/services
- Design, develop, coordinate, and manage billing for services delivered
• Digital Media Coordination
- Collaborate with Multimedia Specialist to establish, develop, coordinate and
manage all digital media associated with the HR services department and KSI,
e.g. website, social media
• Serve as association-wide receptionist relief of association operator as needed
• Provide assistance and support for KASB-sponsored events
• Other duties as assigned
• Ability to perform job responsibilities using appropriate hardware, software, and
communication equipment
• Ability to utilize/learn different software programs and have the desire to think
entrepreneurially about association process and provide needed updates
• Possess good organizational skills and flexibility
• Possess good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely, and helpful manner
• Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines
• Ability to accept direction, work constructively and cooperatively with others
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability, on occasion, to move and lift 50 pounds
• Ability to perform jobs while standing for a period of time
• Excellent analytical and project management skills
• Possess a valid Kansas driver’s license with the ability to drive an automobile
• Provide phone management support to the entire association as needed
• Most tasks performed by this position are performed in the Topeka office.
• Evening and weekend work may be expected for this position.
• Regular attendance and reporting to work on time are essential requirements of
employment.
