We are a small, established elder and special law firm in the Carmel, Indiana seeking a service-oriented, self-motivated person for a full-time Paralegal position. The right candidate will have a growth mindset, eagerness to take on more significant responsibilities, a willingness to learn and improve, and the ability to work independently. Candidates must be detail-oriented, a resourceful critical thinker, and possess excellent skills in grammar, writing, and proof-reading.
This is a great opportunity with a leading attorney in the field of elder and special needs law. You will work closely with the attorney and the rest of the team with the responsibility of building trustworthy relationships with clients and managing client projects through to completion.

Responsibilities
· First line of communication with clients, public benefits agencies, court, government agencies and other third party inquires that do not require an attorney to answer.
· Resolve client inquires and concerns that are not within the scope of the professional obligations of the attorney.
· Responsible for implementing, overseeing, and timely completing client projects within firm standards and procedures. Maintain regular contact with attorneys, staff and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.
· Organize and maintain client files in case management system to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to legal team.
· Draft, revise and complete legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, dispositions, orders, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.
· Provide competent, efficient, prompt and cost-effective legal work by assisting firm in all areas of need
· File pleadings, motions, and other court documents with Circuit and Superior Courts.
· Record Deeds and other instruments.
· Conduct legal research as directed by the attorney.
· Develop and maintains expertise on firm procedures as directed by attorney or Managing Member.
· Provide assistance to other team members when needed for functions within and outside normal role of paralegal.
Qualifications
- Prior project management experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom.
- Solid communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the aptitude to interface with colleagues at all levels by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and the ability to inspire confidence and trust.
- Proven success in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
