Surgical Technologist

Role Overview

This position provides surgical technology support for various operative and invasive procedures, assisting surgeons and performing scrub, assist, and case closing roles. The technologist trains and mentors peers and students, ensuring efficient preparation, setup, and intraoperative support tailored to surgeon preferences. They anticipate and manage intra-op events, communicate effectively with team members, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment. The role requires adaptability, critical thinking, and the ability to respond to emergencies confidently.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate's degree or Surgical Technology Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
• Ability to scrub and assist across multiple specialties, including running Mayo stand independently
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentorship skills
• Flexibility for on-call, after-hours, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Proactive, attentive, and able to handle unexpected intra-op situations with confidence
