  • Job Description * This position requires travel between the Ready-Mix plants in the Baltimore area i.e. Brooklyn, Odenton, Grantley and Edgewood) Job Summary The General Support I position includes primary duties of assisting with plant operation, equipment operation, and general maintenance. Responsibilities also include cleaning and material handling. Essential Functions • Primary duties include a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant. • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling material. • Perform safety and operational inspections. • Perform and inspect for preventative plant maintenance. • Assist with maintenance activities as directed. • Other duties as needed may include operating mobile equipment, operating fixed plant equipment, and assisting with various tasks throughout the facility. • Travel to other facilities may be required. • Clean plant area by shoveling or washing spilled material from under conveyors, tail pulleys, and structures; removing debris from stairs, catwalks, platforms, tunnels, etc., washing concrete pads; sweeping control houses, etc. • Perform inspections of the assigned area and document safety concerns and mechanical defects. • Unload and clean rail cars and/or barges as required (if applicable). • Maintain grounds by mowing grass, picking up litter, etc. • Perform facilities preventative maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in repairs and clean up. • Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment. Critical Competencies • English Language Proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language. • Equipment Operation- Proficiency in operating large equipment, including understanding the controls, gauges, and indicators. Ability to manipulate equipment accurately and smoothly for various tasks.   • High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience Experience
  • Entry level experience in mining or construction industry Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English Language.
  • Ability to operate a skid-steer, fork lift or similar type clean-up loader Other Requirements
  • Will work outdoors and be exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions.
  • May work in high and/or precarious places or cramped workspaces that require getting into awkward positions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as bend and lift 45 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions of heat and cold.
  • May be subject to wearing a respirator.
  • Frequently works near moving, mechanical parts, and vehicular traffic.
  • Must be able to work required overtime and a flexible work schedule Hourly Range : the hourly range for this role is between $22.79 - $30.61. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.
