The Position

Night Security provides overnight watch for our outdoor landfill and recycling site located off South Wilmot Rd. This role exists to protect the property, prevent fire risk, and ensure quick, correct response when issues come up.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform hourly perimeter patrols and routine property checks
• Maintain site safety and security and monitor fire controls
• Follow established emergency response procedures and notify the right contacts
• Complete clear incident reporting and basic written logs
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

Required qualifications/skills:

• Knowledge of fire safety protocols and emergency response procedures
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Basic report writing and incident reporting ability
• Comfortable working onsite nights: 8 pm–3 am, six nights/week (holidays as needed)

Overnight Rhythm

You arrive at the Wilmot Recycling and Landfill site before 8 pm, check in, and review any notes from the prior shift. The night is steady and independent: you move through scheduled rounds across the yard, pause to scan for anything out of place, and keep an eye on areas where heat or smoke could develop. When something needs attention, you document it clearly and pass along the details so the next shift and management have a clean handoff. Most nights are quiet, but you stay ready to act fast and follow the plan if an alarm, fire concern, or unexpected activity occurs.
