Summary

Join our team as a Registered Nurse and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing cancer and complex critical health conditions.

In this role, you’ll provide expert patient care, health education, and supportive counseling to oncology and ICU-level patients, delivering skilled nursing interventions that promote recovery, stability, and overall well-being. Working in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment, you’ll collaborate closely with physicians and licensed providers to implement clinical support staff.

Beyond daily patient care, you’ll also take part in professional development opportunities through workshops, in-service training, and ongoing education. This is an opportunity to grow your nursing career in a supportive environment while helping patients and families navigate their most critical health journeys.

As a Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Float Pool, you will have the opportunity to receive critical care training based on the needs of the unit and at the discretion of the manager.

Starting hourly rate is $52.58 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

License Requirement

License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or

2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or

3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or

4. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.

1. Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.

2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher. Candidates should also have either at least one year of critical care experience or a minimum of two years of oncology experience in an acute care hospital setting. Additionally, CCRN certification is strongly preferred/required (choose as appropriate).
