Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site HVAC Engineer role based in Vacaville, CA. The HVAC Engineer will design, review, and optimize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing load calculations, selecting appropriate equipment, preparing technical drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, contractors, and other engineers, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, and troubleshooting system performance issues. The HVAC Engineer will maintain detailed documentation, support energy efficiency initiatives, and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, and system optimization.
  • Strong proficiency with HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools) and MS Office for reports and documentation.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and schematics.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; professional licensure (EIT/PE) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in HVAC engineering, building services, or MEP consulting is highly beneficial.
