Stryker is seeking a Design Engineer for our Customized Implants division in Ventura, California. Here, we specialize in designing custom temporomandibular joint

(TMJ) implants that restore jaw function and transform lives. As a Design Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, working closely with experienced designers and clinical specialists to create patient-specific solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Design patient-specific TMJ implants in accordance with established engineering procedures and surgeon preference listings
  • Evaluate CT scans and anatomical models for image quality, reference geometry, and suitability for design
  • Create 3D implant designs using CAD software based on surgeon input and patient-specific anatomy
  • Prepare design review packages, manufacturing drawings, and surgeon approval schematics
  • Partner with surgeons and field teams to incorporate patient-specific requirements into final designs
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and customer service teams to support design transfer and production readiness
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and clinical partners regarding design progress and updates
  • Maintain accurate design documentation and meet defined turnaround timelines for each case

Required Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 0 years of experience in engineering, design, or related technical discipline
  • Strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship experience in engineering, product design, or medical device manufacturing environments
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy
  • Interest in medical device design and patient-specific solutions
  • CAD software experience, preferably SolidWorks
