Pay Rate and Hours
- Extended School Care Operations Support and Autoline Attendant: $20 per hour; Monday to Friday 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Extended School Care Leader: $18 per hour; Monday to Friday 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Extended School Care High School Aide: $16 per hour; Monday to Friday 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, ‘Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi enrolling approximately 2,300 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.

Job Summary
‘Iolani School is seeking energetic and dependable individuals to join our Extended School Care team. Successful candidates will enjoy working with students and adults, functioning as an active member of the team to support student safety. Approachability, flexibility, and clear communication are valued and essential skills.
‘Iolani Extended School Care provides a safe, nurturing, enriching, and fun environment for students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade during the academic year extended school hours. Extended School Care employees must complete mandatory orientation, training, and fingerprint background check.
Essential Responsibilities
- Monitor Extended School Care students in a variety of settings (i.e., play areas, study time, escorting to and from activities, Autoline, etc.) ensuring student safety and adherence to all school and Extended School Care policies and procedures.
- Develop and foster healthy rapport with and between students by listening to understand student needs, encouraging growth, providing accountability, and offering necessary support.
- Model positive behavior, respect, and care when interacting with students.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with supervisors, staff, students, and families.
- Maintains necessary clerical records including attendance, injury, illness, and incident reports.
- Assists with planning and executing a diverse variety of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities and games.
- Provides first aid when needed.
- Escort students to vehicles during Autoline dismissal as assigned.
- Attends meetings and training as scheduled.
- Extended School Care High School Aides staff the Autoline, with occasional student group support.
- Extended School Care Operations Support and Autoline Attendants fulfill duties of the Extended School Care Leader, with additional closing responsibilities and Autoline management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training preferred.
- Currently (or ability to be) certified in first aid/CPR or other emergency procedures preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrated constructive and flexible approach to all aspects of required duties.
- Ability to handle interruptions and multiple demands.
- Ability to appropriately interact with students and colleagues in various situations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize responsibilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate and perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to perform the physical tasks required for the position, including reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, and operating standard office equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation . Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must successfully pass a fingerprint background check and provide TB clearance due to working in proximity to children. Must complete all DHS staff requirements for program licensing (High School graduates)
