Continuous Improvement Engineer

BioTouch is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Columbus, Georgia!

We’re looking for a hands-on change agent who is passionate about operational excellence and knows how to turn Lean principles into measurable results. This role will partner closely with production, distribution, quality, engineering, IT, and supply chain teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.

What you’ll do

• Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects
• Improve material flow, kitting processes, throughput, cycle time, labor efficiency, and capacity
• Implement Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, SMED, Kanban, A3 problem-solving, visual management, and mistake-proofing
• Use data and root-cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities
• Develop sustainable processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Establish KPIs and present measurable project results to plant leadership
• Train and engage employees at all levels in Lean manufacturing principles
• Help build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for

• At least five years of experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related manufacturing role
• Demonstrated success implementing Lean principles in a manufacturing environment
• Experience leading Kaizen events with measurable operational results
• Strong facilitation, communication, data-analysis, and project-management skills
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering strongly preferred
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus
• Experience with ERP/MES systems and high-volume, high-mix operations is also preferred
