Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Inventory and Logistics Manager to oversee materials management, shipping/receiving operations, and inventory control within our manufacturing environment.
This individual will lead a team responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records, efficient material flow, and timely fulfillment to support production and customer commitments.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, systems knowledge, and operational discipline.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and develop the inventory control, shipping/receiving, and stockroom team to meet operational objectives
- Establish performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in logistics and inventory accuracy
Inventory Management
- Own inventory accuracy across the facility; implement and enforce cycle count programs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Ensure proper tracking and handling of materials in accordance with company quality standards
- Optimize inventory levels to support production without overstocking or shortages
Logistics Operations
- Manage shipping, receiving, and freight activities, ensuring compliance and service level performance
- Maintain relationships with carriers and freight vendors
- Improve warehouse layout and material flow to maximize efficiency and safety
Systems & Reporting
- Drive ERP system accuracy by ensuring real-time transactions and data integrity (issue, receipt, movement, adjustment)
- Create and present reports on inventory health, material variances, cycle count compliance, and logistics metrics
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, and Procurement to ensure material availability and alignment with production demand
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in inventory and logistics roles, including prior supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory management best practices
- Strong analytical skills and proven ability to drive process improvement
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment
- Lean Six Sigma or APICS (CPIM/CSCP) certification
- Background in continuous improvement and change management
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
- May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
- Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
- Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
- Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
