University Physicians Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Patient Service Rep position at University Palliative Care (Located within the UT Medical Center - Cancer Institute). Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines in a very fast-paced office. This position will work closely with physicians to provide a seamless patient experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between patients and providers, documenting patient communications in the electronic medical record (Cerner)
  • Respond to patient inquiries and schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits
  • Monitor test results, process medication prior authorizations, and coordinate follow-up care as needed
  • Track and report clinical and operational metrics, including patient volumes, appointment no-shows, and documentation turnaround times
  • Maintain accurate documentation, manage office supplies, and support daily administrative operations
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize workflows and enhance the patient experience
  • Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and other duties as assigned by the Office Supervisor

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • At least 6 months of experience in a medical office setting
  • In addition to traditional clinical responsibilities, this role also includes a significant amount of office-based work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting both patient care and administrative functions such as tracking metrics, managing documentation, and assisting with workflow coordination.
