Summary

At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, every patient journey begins with access to the right care at the right time. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play an important role in creating a positive and supportive experience for patients as they begin or continue their treatment journey.

In this role, you'll help coordinate appointments, communicate with patients and healthcare providers, verify insurance information, and ensure patients are prepared for their visits. Your attention to detail, compassion, and organizational skills will help patients navigate the healthcare process with confidence and ease.

The starting hourly rate is $42,641 which includes a comprehensive benefits package, offering valuable support and coverage during your employment.

What You'll Do:

Serve as a key point of contact for patients, families, referring providers, and care teams

Schedule appointments, diagnostic testing, and other pre-visit services

Gather and accurately enter patient information

Coordinate care-related activities to ensure a seamless patient experience

Communicate with referring physicians and internal clinical teams

Support hospital admissions and other patient access needs

Verify insurance coverage and assist with financial clearance processes

Help patients understand next steps and answer questions regarding appointments and access to care

Ensure patients receive timely, professional, and compassionate service throughout their experience

Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a similar healthcare support role

Knowledge of insurance verification and/or basic financial clearance processes

Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Confidence working with computer systems and entering data efficiently

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

1. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification; or

2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in registration/scheduling
  • Insurance verification or basic financial clearance knowledge
  • Exceptional customer service skills
