The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for underground utility and civil construction projects. This individual will work closely with operations teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process.

Client Details

Our client is a growing General Contractor with experience delivering projects across the education, healthcare, multifamily, retail, and disaster relief sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Estimator to join their team

Description

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budgets.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and historical data for future reference.
  • Communicate estimates and project timelines effectively to clients and team members.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company and industry standards.

Profile

A successful Estimator should have:

  • Experience with preparing detailed construction cost estimates.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in estimating.
