The Head Coach is responsible for leading Erie Prep Academy’s premier basketball team while developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally. The Head Coach will build a nationally competitive program, foster a culture of excellence, and prepare student-athletes for collegiate opportunities through elite coaching, mentorship, and leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the High School National Team, including practices, games, and program culture.
• Plan and implement effective offensive and defensive systems.
• Develop student-athletes through skill instruction, mentorship, and accountability.
• Promote academic success, leadership, and sportsmanship.
• Assist student-athletes with the college recruiting process and build relationships with college coaches.
• Coordinate team schedules, travel, and basketball operations.
• Work collaboratively with school leadership, faculty, and athletic staff.
• Represent Erie Prep Academy with professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of basketball coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, prep school, or professional level.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop student-athletes on and off the court.
• Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous head coaching experience.
• Experience coaching at the prep school level.
• Established network of collegiate basketball coaches and experience assisting with player placement.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively coach and demonstrate basketball skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to travel frequently throughout the season.
