Role Overview

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the nurse contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills to provide and manage patient care through the application of the nursing process.

Responsibilities Include

• Assessing patient status via interviews, observations, and physical exams
• Developing individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Implementing interventions to achieve patient outcomes
• Monitoring, evaluating, and documenting patient progress throughout shifts
• Adjusting care plans based on patient condition changes
• Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with medical and hospital policies
• Promoting safety and troubleshooting equipment issues
• Collecting and performing bedside lab testing with quality control
• Collaborating with team members for patient care organization from admission to discharge
• Teaching patients and families with age-appropriate strategies
• Participating in data collection, analysis, and process improvements
• Adhering to standards of care, evidence-based practices, and safety goals
• Sharing clinical knowledge and supporting team development

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Technical competency with medical equipment and lab procedures
• Commitment to professional development and patient safety
