Role Overview
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the nurse contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills to provide and manage patient care through the application of the nursing process.
Responsibilities Include
- Assessing patient status via interviews, observations, and physical exams
- Developing individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Implementing interventions to achieve patient outcomes
- Monitoring, evaluating, and documenting patient progress throughout shifts
- Adjusting care plans based on patient condition changes
- Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with medical and hospital policies
- Promoting safety and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Collecting and performing bedside lab testing with quality control
- Collaborating with team members for patient care organization from admission to discharge
- Teaching patients and families with age-appropriate strategies
- Participating in data collection, analysis, and process improvements
- Adhering to standards of care, evidence-based practices, and safety goals
- Sharing clinical knowledge and supporting team development
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Technical competency with medical equipment and lab procedures
- Commitment to professional development and patient safety
