Position Type: Full-time / Contract

Location: San Antonio, TX

Role/Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, time-boxed, and outcome-driven.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for up to three Agile teams, promoting Agile principles and Scrum best practices across projects.
  • Identify, track, and remove impediments that impact team productivity, leveraging technical expertise to resolve complex development challenges.
  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile values, Scrum principles, self-management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between development teams, Product Owners, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to understand software development workflows, technical dependencies, and engineering challenges to better support Agile delivery.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and implementing process enhancements.
  • Protect development teams from external interruptions and unnecessary distractions, enabling focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Support Product Owners in defining Product Goals, refining Product Backlogs, and maintaining well-prioritized user stories.
  • Encourage technical excellence by supporting engineering best practices such as DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and adherence to the Definition of Done.
  • Lead and manage Agile project teams to ensure successful project execution and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables while proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Implement change management processes to effectively address scope changes and project deviations.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate project status, risks, issues, and key milestones to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Champion Agile transformation by coaching teams and the broader organization on Agile adoption and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Agile Metrics Portal (AMP) metrics and other Agile performance indicators to identify opportunities for improving team performance and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile software development teams.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and driving Agile delivery across multiple Agile teams.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum framework, Agile methodologies, values, principles, and best practices.
  • Strong technical background with familiarity in software development concepts, SDLC, development workflows, and Agile engineering practices.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and project management methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of project management and change management principles.
  • Excellent servant leadership, coaching, facilitation, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience using Agile Metrics Portal (AMP) metrics or similar Agile reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting up to three Agile teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), automated testing, and Agile engineering practices.
  • Experience leading Agile transformation initiatives within enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or other Agile project management tools.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $108000

Pay Range Maximum: $169000

A candidate's pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
