Immigration Attorney

Nations to Neighbors Montana is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join its new Immigrant Legal Services program serving refugee and immigrant families in Montana.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to join an established, mission-driven nonprofit already deeply connected to newcomer communities through youth programming, English language education, mentorship, and practical support. The successful candidate will provide direct representation in matters including fear-based relief claims, removal defense, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, and naturalization. Attorneys with greater experience will also have opportunities to help shape program systems, policies, and long-term legal service delivery.

We welcome applications from both early-career and experienced attorneys. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will receive professional legal supervision and mentorship while developing an immigration law practice or take a leading role in helping shape and expand the program.

Qualifications include:

• JD and active license to practice law
• Immigration law experience preferred; litigation experience and other transferable legal experience will be considered
• Commitment to excellent client representation and to serving with integrity and compassion

Location: Billings, Montana

Position: Full-time

Preferred Start: October 2026; earlier start dates considered

Compensation based on experience:

• 1–3 years post-J.D.: $60,000–$80,000, plus professional legal supervision and mentoring
• 4+ years post-J.D.: $85,000–$109,000, depending on qualifications
