Company Description

Canyon GBS ( https://canyongbs.com), based in Mesa, AZ, is a fast moving high-tech software company developing industry leading technology that leverages artificial intelligence.

Canyon GBS is seeking an exceptionally capable, engaging, and trustworthy Executive and Personal Assistant to the CEO.

This is a highly involved, one-to-one role providing holistic support across the CEO’s business relationships, professional responsibilities, travel, personal affairs, and daily life. The successful candidate will become the CEO’s trusted right hand and close working partner, remaining in frequent communication, anticipating needs, offering candid observations, and taking ownership of whatever is required to help the CEO operate effectively.

Personality is essential. The ideal candidate is socially confident, quick-witted, entertaining, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. They can complement the CEO during an investor dinner, keep clients engaged at an event, bring energy to a difficult travel day, and transition seamlessly into detailed administrative or personal support.

This is a full-time, on-call position. The schedule will vary and may include early mornings, nights, weekends, late social engagements, and travel with limited advance notice when required. Supporting the CEO must be the individual’s primary professional commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CEO to develop and strengthen relationships with customers, partners, investors, media, and community leaders by building rapport, engaging guests, communicating the Canyon GBS story, reading interpersonal dynamics, and ensuring thoughtful follow-up.
  • Provide the full range of executive, administrative, clerical, and professional support, including calendar management, calls, email, correspondence, presentations, meeting preparation, research, records, notes, deadlines, and follow-through.
  • Maintain frequent private communication with the CEO, serving as a trusted sounding board and sharing candid ideas, observations, reminders, concerns, opportunities, and relationship insights.
  • Coordinate all aspects of local and national travel, including itineraries, flights, hotels, transportation, reservations, check-in, check-out, schedule changes, meeting materials, and travel disruptions.
  • Travel side-by-side with the CEO and provide continuous support, including transportation, packing and unpacking, organizing hotel rooms and workspaces, preparing clothing and personal items, coordinating meals, and accompanying the CEO to meetings, dinners, events, and social engagements.
  • Manage personal and household affairs, including appointments, shopping, clothing, errands, deliveries, meals, vehicle service, home access, vendors, maintenance, service providers, gifts, and communication with family members or personal contacts when requested.
  • Ensure the CEO is prepared, on time, appropriately presented, and equipped for every professional, personal, travel, and social engagement while protecting the CEO’s time, privacy, reputation, relationships, and confidential information.
  • Anticipate needs and take ownership of any reasonable executive, professional, travel, household, personal, or practical responsibility required to allow the CEO to remain focused on relationships, decisions, and company growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience supporting a founder, senior executive, business owner, public figure, or similarly demanding principal.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, conversational, hospitality, and sales skills, with the confidence to complement the CEO in meetings, dinners, networking events, and other social environments.
  • Warm, engaging, quick-witted, emotionally intelligent, and able to make customers, partners, investors, and other guests feel comfortable and entertained.
  • Exceptionally trustworthy, discreet, responsive, organized, and capable of developing a close, intuitive, and highly collaborative working relationship with the CEO.
  • Able to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgment, provide candid private feedback, manage rapidly changing priorities, and perform both executive-level work and practical personal tasks.
  • Must live in Mesa or the surrounding Phoenix metropolitan area, possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and be willing and able to work nights and weekends and travel regularly, including with limited notice.
