Innovation Fellow, GT School (Remote) - $400,000/year USD
Crossover
You've already launched a venture and grown it to scale. Now you're searching for your next meaningful challenge—one with urgency and a clear sense of purpose. If you share the conviction that gifted students in the U.S. are being systematically failed by the current education system, and you're prepared to act, read on.
gt.school is reimagining education for high-ability learners. Our 2 Hour Learning framework condenses the academic curriculum into efficient, mastery-oriented sessions—creating space for students to tackle meaningful challenges. We are now building a physical model campus that introduces the elements these students have been lacking: leadership development, competitive peer environments, performance-oriented culture, and true community.
You will own the design, validation, and launch of this campus prototype—positioning it as the blueprint for a national expansion. In parallel, you'll help scale our existing GT Anywhere virtual program alongside the team currently in place. This includes piloting real programming, generating parent interest, establishing a sustainable culture, and creating the operational frameworks to replicate success.
We're looking for someone with the energy and track record of a founder. Someone who knows that vision alone is worthless without disciplined execution. Someone who can take a bold educational thesis and transform it into a school that parents advocate for—and students are eager to join.
What You Will Be Doing
- Creating and piloting scalable programming beyond the classroom—centered on leadership development, autonomy, and peer competition
- Establishing and pressure-testing a physical campus prototype, including operational models, facility planning, and team structure
- Shaping messaging and market positioning for parents, along with expansion frameworks that support growth
- Codifying quality benchmarks and cultural practices to ensure consistency across all future locations
- Serving as the visible advocate for the model—generating awareness through media, events, and strategic alliances
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Operating a conventional school with standard classrooms, teachers, and a traditional daily schedule
- Serving families seeking watered-down gifted programs focused on AP courses with limited rigor
- Pursuing gradual reform within legacy systems—we're building an alternative, not adjusting the old model
- Optimizing for surface-level engagement data—our priority is substantive outcomes and rigorous learning, not volume
- Working entirely remotely—flexibility is available, but expect to spend approximately 1 week per month in Austin to stay operationally grounded
Innovation Fellow Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, validation, and scaling of a high-performance school model for gifted students—beginning with one prototype campus and building toward nationwide replication.
Basic Requirements
- Launched and scaled a high-impact venture from the ground up (preferred if it included physical operations or education). We mean at least 1M USD in annual revenue under your ownership
- Genuine, firsthand insight into the needs of gifted learners—gained through family, professional, or personal experience
- AI First mentality — Natural orientation toward using AI as the primary approach for problem-solving, strategic decisions, and large-scale content generation.
- Demonstrated skill in communicating a bold vision and turning doubters into advocates
- Located in the U.S., with capacity to travel to Austin regularly (at least 1 week per month)
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
