About The Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented

Survey Field Technician / Instrument Operator to support our mechanical surveying team in the field. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, collaborating with a team, and contributing to high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and assist with surveying instruments including prisms, total stations, GPS/electronic distance-measuring equipment, and auto-levels
• Accurately record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, sketches, drawings, and digital data collection tools
• Set and position targets for operators to measure angles, distances, and elevations
• Perform manual labor tasks using drills, cutting equipment, and other tools as needed
• Assist with surveying activities such as point layout, equipment layout, and blueprint interpretation
• Collaborate with team members across field operations, administration, and production

Qualifications

• Experience with surveying equipment
• Experience with commerical mechanical contractors and supporting their layout requirements
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift equipment as needed
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
