Lead safety across chemical facilities in a highly visible Safety Manager role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on safety culture, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position for a leader, mentor, and coach with strong industrial experience, ideally in the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for safety across both sites
  • Spend approximately 50/50 time between the plants
  • Heavy safety and health focus
  • Environmental exposure
  • Serve as a leader, mentor, and coach to employees and site leadership
  • Build and strengthen safety culture across both facilities
  • Develop relationships with operations and frontline employees
  • Influence without direct authority
  • Promote employee ownership of safety
  • Encourage near-miss reporting
  • Support behavior-based safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance - non-negotiable
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Monitor safety metrics and identify trends
  • Use data to drive safety improvements
  • Work with contractors and staffing personnel onsite
  • Partner with the Environmental Engineer on EHS initiatives
  • Ensure consistency in safety programs and expectations between both facilities
  • Pick up projects and see them through to completion

Salary

$100,000 - $140,000

Technical / Compliance Requirements

  • Strong industrial safety experience
  • Chemical manufacturing experience ideal
  • OSHA knowledge
  • Incident investigation experience
  • Safety auditing and inspection experience
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Ability to assimilate and consolidate data from multiple EHS systems / platforms
  • PSM not required but ideal
  • Environmental experience / exposure is a plus
  • Experience in a highly regulated industrial environment
