Job Summary: A Fall Camp Counselor is responsible for leading, supervising, and engaging campers in a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities in a safe and supportive environment. The Fall Camp Counselors serve as role models, ensuring campers’ physical and emotional well-being while fostering teamwork, creativity, and confidence. Fall Camp Counselors support planned activities and schedules, resolve conflicts, enforce camp rules, and communicate effectively with both campers and staff. This role requires enthusiasm, patience, and strong leadership skills to create a positive and memorable camp experience for all participants. Operations are Monday through Friday, Fall Camp is held from October 12, 2026 - October 18, 2026, between 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and understand basic English. This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, running, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. The employee must be able to see and hear children at all times for the safety of children and co-workers, and must have the ability to use eyes, hands, and fingers accurately.
Responsibilities
- Actively play with and supervise children ensuring they are within visual and auditory range at all times.
- Teach and develop positive social behaviors in children that nurture peer-to-peer relationship building and support continuity of care. Support positive behavior.
- Participate in and support with volunteer pre/post camp huddles, modeling InTouch values.
- Maintain a safe environment for children by following state licensing standards, keeping facilities hazard-free, ensuring equipment and play space are in working order, and being aware of potential threats to safety.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment where children and families are greeted by name, and the cultures of the community are represented through learning and wellness activities, art, literature, movement, sounds, animals, etc.
- Collaborate with staff to plan and execute developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum for the children.
- Document all accidents, illnesses, incidents, and medications on the required forms and report suspected abuse/neglect as required by Arizona State Law.
- Ensure the preparation and service of a meal/snack program that meets Integrative Touch and licensing requirements, and the cultural and nutritional needs of the children.
- Maintain a clean, organized, & sanitary indoor/outdoor environment by performing daily cleaning duties.
- Maintain sensitivity to all ability levels among campers, understanding some may experience high medical or support needs.
- Approaches work with strong values including accessibility, inclusion, and empathy.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience working with children with mental, emotional, social, or medical needs at the appropriate age level.
- Child care knowledge and experience preferred.
- Cleared Fingerprint Card or background check (prior to start date).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and G Suite products.
- Professional and psychological maturity, a servant-leader disposition, and a commitment to the principles of high quality child care and education.
- Proficiency in meeting youth where they are, and empowering all ability levels.
The Fall Camp Counselors report to Integrative Touch’s Kids Programming & Volunteer Coordinator, working cooperatively with volunteers and other InTouch staff members.
